
For the second year in a row, Nantucket Boat Basin in Nantucket, Mass., took home the "Best Transient Marina" award from Marinalife, sharing the honor this year with Twin Dolphin Marina in Brandenton, Fla. Harbour Town Yacht Basin in Hilton Head, S.C., was the winner for "Best Customer Service," while Orange Beach Marina in Orange Beach, Ala. was the runner up.
This year's winners were selected over the course of the 2011 summer boating season by Marinalife members and boaters.
The 240-slip Nantucket Boat Basin is a full-service marina located outside of Nantucket, Mass. is known for its special touches like hand-written confirmation notes and welcome bags delivered to arriving guests, according to a press release by Marinalife.
"To be selected two years in a row is really great recognition from all of our guests. We will strive to continue our great service and hospitality in 2012," said George Bassett, director of marina operations for Nantucket Boat Basin.
The 225-slip Twin Dolphin Marina located along the Memorial Pier in Bradenton, Fla. was a first-time winner of the award.
"Twin Dolphin Marina is very proud and honored to receive this national award," said Mike Shanley, harbormaster at Twin Dolphin Marina. "We've made a major commitment to cater to our visiting yachting guests so they too can enjoy a fabulous experience at our wonderful facilities."
Harbour Town Yacht Basin at the Sea Pines Resort along the Caliboque Sound in Hilton Head, S.C., was also a first time honoree for "Best Customer Service."
"We are excited to be named as the Best Customer Service award winner by Marinalife and its members," said Nancy Cappelmann, harbourmaster at Harbour Town. "Our goal is to provide the very best in resort amenities and service, and it is gratifying to know that these ambitions have not gone unnoticed."
